Fernandina Beach Back Pain Care and Bone Health Supported by B vitamins

B vitamins. There are many B vitamins. Some are becoming stars in the Fernandina Beach bone health and even Fernandina Beach back pain relief worlds. Aging, osteoporosis, back pain, and related fractures are a handful of the reasons. Amelia Chiropractic Clinic shares new research behind the testing of B vitamin levels and adjusting any reduced levels with diet and supplementation as appropriate.

AGING, OSTEOPOROSIS, FRACTURE, VITAMIN B

We are aging. We are not alone in it. Globally, aging is growing. Along with aging comes the growth of osteoporotic fracture incidence and morbidity, mortality, and cost related to those fractures. It’s quite a vicious cycle! Preventing osteoporosis and enhancing the health of bone is a reasonable goal when considering aging. Dietary modification has been shown valuable as has the supplementation of B vitamins. Recent researchers wrote that support continues to grow for the possible protective role of B vitamins particularly B2, B6, folate (B9), and B12 for bone health. Research suggested that eating vitamin B enriched foods is one option to contain any adverse effects of high-dose B vitamin supplementation. (1) It is important to get the right mix of B vitamins to do the best for bone health. Amelia Chiropractic Clinic will collaborate with you to find out what is best for you and your bones.

BONE, BMD, HIP FRACTURE, VITAMIN B

For years, Amelia Chiropractic Clinic has studied the suggestions of Vitamin B for bone health, and the newest review article of 29 studies supports testing and supplementation of B vitamins. 14 studies reported that blood tests revealing low serum levels of folate (vitamin B9) are indicators of risk for reduced bone mineral density (BMD) and fractures in older people, especially women.  Taking folate vitamin B9 (500mcg-5mg a day) improved BMD in another study. Taking B6 reduced the risk of hip fracture. These findings prompted the researchers to suggest that checking folate and homocysteine blood levels in elderly patients with osteopenia/osteoporosis is crucial. They even went so far as to state it is mandatory. (2) Vitamin B is imperative for Fernandina Beach bone health!

ANTI-INFLAMMATORY BENEFIT OF VITAMIN B

B vitamins may well be a link in managing inflammatory chemicals through homocysteine control, methylation, lowering CRP, etc. The roles of B vitamins – thiamine, pyridoxine, and cyanocobalamin – in back pain and other musculoskeletal disorders tend toward being anti-inflammatory, anti-nociceptive, neuroprotective, and neuromodulatory. (3) Big words. Big concepts. Big deals. Amelia Chiropractic Clinic offers that these effects are helpful in dealing with back pain, musculoskeletal pain, and issues involving bone and spine health via nutrition.
