Computerized Gait Analysis

Dr. Rice utilizes the iStep Pressure Plate. The iStep is a computerized gait analysis device used to provide detailed information on the support (or lack of) your feet are providing the rest of your body. This new technology measures the "Blueprints" of your feet via a patented infrared foot scanning technology by measuring the force distribution through your feet as you stand, walk or run over a platform. This scan determines which leg you tend to carry more weight on and it gives a printed 3D image of your weight distribution. Scientific studies have shown that there is a direct cause and effect relationship between unbalanced foot pressure distribution during the gait cycle and pain in such areas as the feet, ankles, knees, hips and low back. Poor alignment can cause wear and tear to other parts of your body.
